SUMMER CAMP 2007
20 - 24 June, Oak Ridge Military Academy, North Carolina

This year's Junior Cadet Leadership Challenge was held at Oak Ridge Military Academy near Greensboro, North Carolina. I acted as head chaperone for this camp, which presented its own set of unique challenges. I would like to thank the wonderful people at Oak Ridge for their hospitality and assistance during our stay on their campus.
Congratulations to the 12 cadets who attended this year's JCLC Summer Camp at Oak Ridge Military Academy. Western Harnett cadets brought home several awards. Steven Hunter and Rachael Cheney received the Physical Fitness Awards for their company. There were 153 cadets at camp this summer, and in marksmanship, Nicholas Busch was the number 8 man, while Robert McNeill was number 3. Matthew Johnson-Grant led the reciting of the Cadet Creed for graduation. Western Harnett also provided the color guard for the camp each evening and for graduation. Congratulations to Rachael Cheney, Joshua "Gopher" Ross, Cassie Kendzierski, and Steven Hunter for a job well done! Finally, we also brought back two Honor Cadets (Alex Huppert and Sean Martin) and one Distinguished Honor Cadet (Nick Busch, who was ranked number 2 out of 153). We also received many compliments about all of our cadets from their company commanders, chaperones, and camp cadre members. We are very, very proud of each and every one of the cadets who attended this year's Camp.
