Color Detachment

The Eagle Battalion Color Detachment has become a well-known feature at many local parades and events.  The Detachment is composed of period color guards representing major times/events in America's military history.  The cadets wear period uniforms, and carry flags and or weapons appropriate to the time concerned.  The Color Detachment covers the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Mexican War, the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Bosnia, Desert Storm/Desert Shield, and the War on Terrorism.

At some events, such as the Fayetteville Veteran's Day Parade, all of the periods are represented.  At others, such as the award ceremonies for World War II veterans, only the appropriate time period is represented.

The Detachment has the capability of being tailored to meet all needs, large or small.  It is perhaps the most visible component of the Western Harnett Eagle Battalion.  It has participated in numerous parades.  We have also participated in the dedication of the Broadway Veterans Memorial and the convocation of the Electoral College in Raleigh.  We have visited local nursing homes, and even taken a small group of cadets to Alabama to participate in Welcome Home Ceremonies for the 115th Signal Battalion.
