WESTERN HARNETT ASTRONOMY CLUB

The Western Harnett Astronomy Club was founded as a direct result of interest expressed by several students at Western Harnett High School. Each school year, the club tries to host at least two star parties. The students also host a Space Day Celebration at Western Harnett. Other events and presentations occur throughout the school year, so be sure to check the club calendar pages for any updates.

We are currently in the process of updating the photo pages for the 2009 Space Day Celebration. We had a trivia contest, an essay contest, and our annual poster contest. The participating students put a great deal of time, energy, and creativity into their contest entries. We would like to extend a special thank you to Mr. Wright, Mr. Lindhout, Ms. Nixon, and Mr. Tart for their support and assistance with this event.

I would especially like to thank the members of the collectSPACE community who were so generous with their time, their comments, their encouragement, and their donation of so many wonderful items to be used as prizes for these deserving students. Ladies and Gentlemen - I couldn't have done it without you!
