WESTERN HARNETT ASTRONOMY CLUB

The Western Harnett Astronomy Club was founded as a direct result of interest expressed by several students at Western Harnett High School. During the 2007-2008 school year, the club plans on hosting at least two star parties. The students will also be hosting a Space Day Celebration at Western Harnett High School. Other events and presentations will occur throughout the school year, so be sure to check the club calendar pages for any updates.

Our first Star Party was held the night of August 12th, when we observed the Perseid Meteor Shower. We would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Mrs. Reckler for allowing us to use her property for our Star party. We really appreciate all the effort she put forth to make us comfortable and to provide us with everything we needed to make this event such a success. We had a wonderful time, and a lot of that is due to Mrs. Reckler. Thank you again!!
