First of all, let me say "Welcome!"  This section of my site relates to my participation in the Solar System Ambassador Program.  Here you will find information about the program itself, links about NASA missions, and general astronomy information that I hope is both interesting and useful.

As a Solar System Ambassador, I  give presentations on NASA missions and space exploration to groups large and small.   Thanks to the added exposure I get as a Solar System Ambassador, I was invited to assist our local Boy Scout troop in meeting the requirements for their Astronomy Merit Badges.  In May of this year, I will be coordinating a Space Day Celebration at our local high school.

The Mars Exploration Rover program continues to be a personal favorite of mine.   Spirit and Opportunity have already contributed so much to our knowledge of Mars, and are still going - somewhat to the surprise of many!

I am also very pleased to see that there is more interest in (and possibility of) our actually returning to the moon, and then traveling beyond.   I was not old enough to remember the first moon landing, but I have never forgotten the thrill I felt watching the taped footage as a teenager.

Many of you may be wondering, "Just what IS a Solar System Ambassador?"  If so, you might enjoy checking out the home page for the Solar System Ambassadors Program.

One of my hobbies is astrophotography.  I am definitely a "rank amateur," as the saying goes, but I'm having a great time with it.  You can see some of my work on my  Astrophotography page.

If you would like to know more about me and my interests/hobbies, you are welcome to visit my personal website.  There are pages about everything from holidays, to recipes, to education, Native Americans, and more.

Please visit my pages often, and feel free to borrow any of my images for your personal use.  Should you have any questions or comments, you may contact me at astrok2003@hotmail.com
