The Internet Pathology Laboratory for Medical Education - Examine tutorials and a wide range of images of individual organs and tissues in both healthy and diseased states. This site is a potent reminder of what can happen when regulatory mechanisms break down and of how much we have still to learn about the structure and function of the human body.
The Virtual Hospital’s "The Human Brain": Dissections of the Real Brain - This site provides numerous images of the brain and spinal cord along with descriptions of structure and function. The text is fairly advanced, but the images are fascinating.
Epithelial Tissue - Click on this link to see microscopic photographs of different epithelial cells.
Connective Tissue - The main page of this site describes the cells of connective tissues. Click on the links to the left to see microscopic photographs of various connective tissue.
Muscle Tissue - Much like the previous two sites, this site offers detail about muscle tissue as well as microscopic photographs.
Organ Donation - The U.S. government homepage for organ donation. Topics include the myths about organ donation, statistics, and the answers to frequently asked questions.
