Welcome to my site!  If you prefer a more streamlined approach, please visit my site directory to view drop-down menus for most of my pages.  This page is your gateway to many things that I find interesting - astronomy and astrophotography among them.  The most recent addition to these pages is my photo gallery from a recent weekend I spent at the Kennedy Space Center for the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation's 2008 Astronaut Autograph and Memorabilia Show.  It was a combination birthday, anniversary, and Christmas present from my husband, and one of the best weekends I've ever had in my life!

I am now in my sixth year as a NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador.  I have worked with astronomy clubs, Boy Scouts, and school groups of all ages.  In my role as an Ambassador, I have assisted a group of Boy Scouts in attaining their Astronomy Merit Badges, and organized and coordinated Space Day Celebrations at Western Harnett High School here in North Carolina.  I currently act as advisor and webmaster for the Western Harnett Astronomy Club.

There are sections of my site for students taking Comprehensive Physical Science or Modern Biology at Fayetteville State University. There are also sections for the Principles of Geography (some call it Introduction to Geography) or the Physical Geography courses.

While attending FSU, I was a founding member of the Sandhills Astronomical Society.  While my schedule no longer permits me to be very involved with the Society, I strongly encourage everyone interested in astronomy to check out their program and resources.

There are pages dedicated to some of my other interests and hobbies, including Pearl Harbor, meteorology, Special Education, the theory of Atlantis, and collecting recipes. There is also a section celebrating the Spirit of America.  Given the fact that I am part Choctaw and Blackfoot, it seemed only appropriate to include a Native American section.  I have also created a Reading Room, where you can read original essays, articles, stories, etc.  I have been fascinated by the Titanic since the wreck was discovered in 1985, and am proud to be a member of The Titanic Ring.

In addition to general lesson plans, I have some subject-specific pages. The Social Studies, Math, and Science pages are in place, and they already have some great links on them. There is also a page dedicated to reading comprehension. Many of the sites listed here are great for all content areas. I also have a page for English as a Second Language. The sites on this page are not only helpful for the multicultural classroom, but can also be of tremendous help for teachers with students who need remediation in different areas.

I have holiday pages begun for Christmas and Halloween. Eventually, I hope to create more holiday pages.

I have been fortunate enough to win some awards for this site.  It is so gratifying to know that people enjoy these pages!  To view the awards that my site has received, please visit my Awards Gallery.

For those interested in learning more about me, check out my personal information page. You can also see a page showing organizations to which I belong.

If you don't find what you're looking for this time, please check back. Sooner or later, I may add just what you need. In the meantime, please feel free to send me an e-mail. I'm always interested in any comments or feedback.
